Chocolate and Tea

I've been craving chocolate all day. I finally found some chocolate hiding in the pantry that was left over from the triple chocolate pie I made last week. It was a semi-sweet baking square, but it did the trick, especially since I had to nibble slowly.

Tonight I needed a cup of tea. Tea is a favorite of mine, which my husband took note of early in our relationship. We shared some tea the evening of our first date and he noticed my collection. He then took the opportunity to completely seal the deal with the most thoughtful gift I've ever received. He showed up at my door for our first official weekend visit with bags of loose tea, a metal (heart shaped, might I add!) tea infuser, and brownies to make it even more perfect. What's more, he'd asked a friend in New York City to send these to him from a little tea shop in her neighborhood. I was officially a goner that weekend (though I was probably already gone by that point).

Tea and chocolate. Short of my wonderful husband, you just can't get much better. Especially when the tea I'm drinking this moment is Belgian Chocolate Rooibos.

Great post. You husband sounds like wonderful, thoughtful man. The memory of the thing almost seems as real.

Your husband is truly thoughtful indeed. How sweet!

And chocolate can cure just about anything in my humble opinion. ;)

Stephanie - I think tonight's show might be of special interest to you. All I can say without giving it away, but I hope to see you in the chat room.

I'm sorry I missed the chat too, but a neighbor got some bad news family wise and her hubby is deployed, so I spent the evening over there. We ordered pizza and drank a bottle of wine to take her mind off of things for a bit.

And yes, my hubby is wonderful. Not that I'm biased. ;)

Every time you post, I get more freaked out by how many things we have in common! :-p

I love Teavanna, have you ever been there? Also, you should check out Beans 'N' Screens in Emerald Isle - they have Numi organic tea. When I was in town a few weeks ago, I drank 2-3 cups a day of the Bushmen's Brew Honeybush herbal teasan. I also bought a box of tea bays, which is sitting here on my desk at work. :)

She Who Waits

Who exactly is she?

Among other definitions, I am someone who has fallen head over heels for a Marine infantry officer. I dabble in photography, love animals, help manage several websites, love to write, read and enjoy the world around me whenever I am able.

This blog was started as a personal outlet while the aforementioned Marine was deployed to Iraq early in our relationship. I decided to continue posting periodically after he made it safely home. Three months into our marriage he has returned to Iraq for another tour, and I continue to write.
